Teen Half and Half + Classroom
State educational requirements for licensure after attaining a permit - 24 hours of classroom time; 8 hours behind the wheel with an Instructor; 50 hours (10 of them one-half hour after sunset and/or one half-hour before sunrise) with a parent/guardian/Instructor (in addition to the 8 with an Instructor).
This course provides a great opportunity for parents/guardians and teens to partner with Safe Pass! We'll provide 24 hours of classroom time, 33 hours behind the wheel (the 8 required with an Instructor and 25 of the additional required 50, with at least 5 of them scheduled for one-half hour after sunset and/or one half-hour before sunrise). Practice beginning one hour before the driving test on the day of the driving test and use of a Safe Pass vehicle for the test itself. This course fulfills all of the classroom requirements and more than half of the BEHIND THE WHEEL requirements the State of Ohio sets for teens to both test and to get behind the wheel safely on their own.
An Instructor will reach out to the teen to schedule their behind the wheel lessons within approximately three (3) business days after they complete their classroom lessons.
Please note: all students are required to bring $20 cash for the fuel fee to the first behind the wheel lesson.
